More rapid progress - looks like a house!

4th November 2018

No not this, and we haven't acquired an alpaca, although it's tempting as they are lovely... This is one spotted during a walk around the Lizard Peninsula.

Rapid progress has been made since our last update - we went from a concrete slab to a completed timber frame in only 11 working days, with just 2 erectors and a crane driver - very impressive we thought:

The kitchen

The lounge

Is that Bodmin?

The bathroom, with 'Alice Wall'

So we can't see The Lizard from our new home, but we did spot this grey seal there basking in the autumn sunshine on a recent walk with Gill (Andy's sister) and Ian

The Cornish coast path in glorious October sunshine

Fine looking blockwork from Salmon & Collett's Kevin

A neat flue installation courtesy of Cornwall Woodburners

A distant view of a temporary geothermal energy drilling rig

Really good looking slate roof from Marnick Roofing - and Spain...

This week should see the installation of windows & doors, samples of larch & Thermowood cladding for the first floor should be arriving and so fairly soon we should be wind & water tight. Electrical first fix is also due to start this week so all of a sudden, after 15 months of planning, over 2 months of groundworks plus just a few weeks of erecting a house, we are now needing to make myriad detail decisions in quick-fire succession!
